A.A.
Rucci and Amber Evans operate The Beaker Gallery, and also curate
shows for The Matthews Gallery, both in Tampa, FL. Both are also
active visual/performance artists.
The Beaker Gallery is the first commercial gallery for contemporary
art to open in the planned Cultural Arts District of downtown Tampa,
and strives to represent local and international artists whose work
would go unseen in Tampa otherwise.
Rucci & Evans eagerly scheduled Mark to be a part of their group
show at Beaker Gallery titled "Digital Purr: Computer-Aided
Kunst" - which runs from Feb. 7th until March 29th, 2003. The
show features 20 artists, and showcases 2 of Mark's prints ("Driving"
and "DuckDuckGoose").
Mark's solo show for Tampa opened on March 14th at Matthews Gallery
in downtown Tampa. The reception drew a wide variety of visitors,
as seen in the photos to the right.
Unfortunately, Mark was unable to attend the opening reception due
to last minute scoring schedule conflicts, but hopes to schedule
more Tampa shows in the future.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the opening, and also to Rucci
& Amber for keeping bizarre art alive in Tampa!
I hope you can both visit Raleigh soon.
