KM
art gallery is owned & operated by Kent Mueller, longtime
resident of Milwaukee, WI, and his partner, Fred the cat. The gallery
has been dedicated to supporting interesting artwork in the area
for 5 years, and is committed to the battle for the foreseeable
future.
The
opening reception was held on Saturday, June 21st. Mark had planned
to attend, even though he had a heavy scoring schedule that weekend,
but was forced to abort the trip to WI when his dog wandered off
a cliff in the Hollywood Hills. His Saturday was spent driving the
injured pup to a vet in Irvine, CA for surgery, rather than flying
to Milwaukee for his art show.
However,
Mark was at KM art in effigy,
and the opening was still a huge success. Wave after wave of curious
visitors passed through the gallery that night, and over half the
show was sold by 11pm.
The Riverwest Accordion Club,
starring Kent's wife, Linda, entertained the crowd with various
Polka classics, as well as squeezebox versions of hits by ABBA.
Copious amounts of beer flowed freely,
and everyone seemed to be having a great time trying to figure out
where the hell Mark's bizarre imagery stems from.
It
was great to meet such a diverse group of people, from all age groups,
and the conversations that night were never dull.
Here's
to the future success of KM art, and the Milwaukee art scene as
a whole. Three cheers!
