M Modern Gallery, located in the heart of Palm Springs, CA, specializes in mid-century modernist art, design, and objects.
The gallery has been bringing left-of-center art shows to the
area since 2003, courtesy of Jay & Mishell Nailor.

The space itself is large, with a huge front window facing the
popular North Palm Canyon Drive, which is filled with shops,
eateries, more art galleries, and other crowd-drawing business.

An unusually early heatwave hit Palm Springs the week of the reception, and the gallery offered a welcomed escape from the
100+ degree temperatures outside. Some visitors drove to M Modern from Los Angeles, Anaheim, and other surrounding areas to see Mark's Beautiful Mutants. Some locals happened upon the show
by chance and were highly entertained by the images on display.

Stone, a metal works artist who recently relocated from
Denver, designed & built a huge Tiki bar for M Modern, which was placed in front of the gallery on the night of the reception. The bar features two flame-shooting orbs atop poles on either side,
and easily attracted visitors from blocks away.
