Gallery 212 has been Kit Eagel's project for many years, and
started out as having an address on Main Street in Ann Arbor. However, Kit eventually found that his job as a Realtor and his
passion for the gallery worked very well together, convincing him
to leave his Main Street address, and book spaces for each
show on an individual basis.

This gives him the opportunity to tailor each venue to fit the artwork by any artist. He chose The Vitosha Guest Haus in Ann Arbor to host Mark's Beautiful Mutants show, and it couldn't have been a better match. Comprising the historic complex is a castle stone chalet house, a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired church (with pipe organ and baby grand piano), a neo-gothic parsonage, and coach house tearoom. The Beautiful Mutants looked right at home.

The reception featured a performance by Carolyn Striho, best-known for fronting the trail-blazing music collective known as the Detroit Energy Asylum or possibly for her work with punk priestess Patti Smith, or musician Don Was of Was, Not Was.

An interesting post-reception story from Kit Eagel at Gallery 212:
"The works have already caused controversy. A banquet of nurses, from the ward of disfigured infants, refused to allow the works to hang in the big room. They were taken down for their party and so have, no doubt,
caused rumors of a show celebrating human oddities."
